Kitchen 51 Ventures, Inc. is looking for a full-time Food Technologist to perform the following job duties:

Formulate new products at benchtop scale using novel ingredient techniques for plant-based food, alternative proteins, and better-for-you food; identify and source appropriate ingredients adhering to required nutritional and regulatory requirements; develop nutritional fact panels using Esha Genesis software; conduct necessary sensory testing to validate product acceptability; conduct shelf-life assessments and identify critical control points for product acceptability with respect to microbiological, analytical and sensory properties; keep a thorough and detailed technical record of all scientific experimentation, including establishing equipment and process Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs); and manage multiple projects and present data to stakeholder in a clear and concise manner.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Food Science, or related, plus six (6) months of experience in formulating, developing, and improving plant-based food, and alternative proteins from benchtop to production scale. Experience must include: operating food process technologies and equipment including: Thermomix; nutritional labeling software (ESHA GENESIS); analytical equipment (texture analyzer, viscometer, moisture analyzer, pH meter, and water activity meter); and food development skills including flavor development and optimization, ingredient chemistry, ingredient sourcing, and food design.

Salary: $79,000/year
