We’re looking for a Café Manager to join our team! Our neighborhood café is a buzzing hub of energy at KitchenTown and this position is critical to the café’s success. The ideal candidate for this job has multiple years of café or restaurant management under their belt, loves food and people, and is willing to tackle any challenge that may arise.
Own and manage the KitchenTown Café operations and staff
Work 3 shifts a week on the floor and fill in as needed
Source, order and maintain inventory for coffee, baked goods, retail goods and supplies
Create weekly schedules for front staff, monitor time tracking, and approve payroll
Ensure compliance with state and federal labor laws and best practices (ie. mandatory meal breaks, paid overtime, etc.)
Ensure food safety standards are followed
Develop and implement operational systems for the café to optimize efficiency
Ensure café is clean and organized
Human Resources & Café Management:
Manage hiring & recruiting processes for both FOH
Train all employees on café procedures as necessary
Track staff performance and growth, including ongoing mentorship and conflict resolution as needed
Check-in regularly with staff and create a positive team environment
Be willing to fill in for any role as needed. Be present on the café floor, perform shift duties and interact with team members and customers regularly.
Set an example for good hospitality and customer service
Work with outside vendors to ensure regular maintenance of equipment
Retail Store Management:
Maintain attractive and well-stocked displays with appropriate signage in the retail store
Manage the retail store’s financial performance & costs
Knowledge of all retail products, maker products, food, coffee & drink program
Serve as an ambassador for KitchenTown and the KitchenTown makers
2+ years food service industry experience
1+ year cafe management experience
1+ year HR experience (people management)
1+ year customer service experience
Barista, server, prep cook/line cook experience (preferred)
Bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)
Good communication skills (oral and written)
Quick learner, team player, adaptable, friendly
This is a salaried, exempt position, compensation based on experience. Full-time hours Thursday-Monday. We are unable to offer relocation package at this time.
Barista & Server
We are looking for a enthusiastic and personable food and coffee lover to join our front of the house café team. An ideal candidate will be able to multitask, work independently, practice sound judgment, and manage downtime effectively. Individuals with restaurant, barista, retail, and/or customer service experience preferred, but we are willing to provide training too!
– Provide friendly and attentive customer service. Greet guests, take food and drink orders, process payments.
– Make espresso, coffee and tea drinks
– Serve breakfast, brunch, and lunch meals
– Maintain a clean and organized dining room and counter space. Wipe down tables, clear plates.
-Restock merchandise and supplies as necessary
– Educate the public as a “brand ambassador” for KitchenTown
HOURS AND SCHEDULE:
-Tuesday-Friday & Sunday (Off Saturday & Monday)
-9am – 5pm

WAGE: $16-18/hour DOE plus tips!!
