BLU 1877 & KITCHENTOWN ANNOUNCE FIRST GOOD FOOD MAKERS COHORT 

BLU1877 and KITCHENTOWN are thrilled to announce the participants for Good Food Makers’ Inaugural Cohort. With a focus on Circular Food Economies, Meal Solutions, and Healthy Snacking — Congratulations to Renewal MillAnycart, and YouPeas! These three startups were chosen from over four hundred applicants. To kick off this first winter cohort, the three companies will spend a week in residence at Barilla’s innovation headquarters in Parma, Italy. The program will continue with personalized mentorship to accelerate each companies’ goals in collaboration with Barilla’s BLU1877 vast network and expertise in food development, marketing, manufacturing, supply chain, and distribution. WHAT THE COHORT WILL TACKLE IN THE COMING MONTHS

With a focus on upcycling and sustainable food systems, solutions for meal access and equity, as well as healthy snacking — the first cohort will travel to Parma, Italy in February for a residency at Barilla Headquarters. Barilla houses a design thinking studio, R&D lab, and pilot plant facilities within their expansive campus. The startups will get an intensive business focused work week that includes a design sprint, working the innovation team, one-on-one mentorship with stakeholders and external networking opportunities. After the intensive week on site, each founder leaves with specific project goals to push forward during the accelerator in collaboration with their specialized team of Barilla experts.
